WADDUP DOTP!
As I imagine, some of us (if not most of us) have played DotA 1 back on Warcraft TFT.
What was cool about having MOBA style games run on wc3 engine was how wide the variety of them was back in the day, and Age of Myths was my favorite one.
Here is a website that highlights some of the features: lanepushinggames.com/2013/11/29/review-age-of-myths/
Here is another one, although a bit more outdated: borkweb.com/story/warcraft-iii-age-of-myths
I was a part of a clan back then that played this map and prolonged it's development, however since the release of new MOBA engines (HoN, LoL, Volvo's Dota 2) I haven't played it for a while.
Last time I remember the amount of heroes in the game was a little over 20 with lvl 20 being the maximum. Each hero starts with a lvl 0 innate spell that cant be leveled, 2 castable spells, one passive, one ultimate, and one mega ultimate that they get at lvl 16...or 18, I don't remember.
The heroes themselves were the coolest part of the game since each one had extremely unique design, and all spells were customized
A good video of the gameplay: www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LNd3qvm-rA
Other features:
- 4 lanes, 2 in the middle that are relatively close
- Rebalancing of teams, 4v6 would turn into 5v5
- Attribute classified items, oh and less reliance on them
- Gold earned was based on % damage dealt, not last hitting
- etc. etc. etc.
Anyway, what I was wondering if anyone here would be interested in playing this sometime?
Also what would be awesome is something like this developed as a Dota2 custom game, and I kind of want to see how those games are developed just to maybe create a highly customized game like this.
