Pro players outside of the big A-Tier teams like EG, Cloud 9, Secret, Vici etc. have a hard time making living wages trying to subsist on just DotA right now so I'm sure dozens of players would have jumped at the chance. That's a big reason certain regions produce less pro players, if the cost of living is too high its not feasible for a pro player to be able to practice 16 hours a day etc.
